Coaches

Ipswich is served by coaches from operator National Express. Daily coaches run from Ipswich, including a service to Stansted and Heathrow airports.

Trains

Ipswich is served by train operator Greater Anglia, and has its main railway station on Burrell Road, a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre, or a short bus or taxi ride away.

Buses run regularly to the town centre and full information is displayed in the timetable display unit at the bus stop on the railway station forecourt. Taxis are also available from the forecourt.

The station is on the InterCity main line to London and offers direct links to Colchester, Stratford, Bury St.Edmunds, Cambridge, Ely, Peterborough, Norwich, Felixstowe, Lowestoft and a large number of other places as well.

Ipswich also has another, smaller, unstaffed railway station called 'Derby Road', on the Felixstowe branch line

 

 

Wheelchair Accessible Minibuses

Connecting Communities Ipswich provides wheelchair accessible minibuses and community cars for people who are unable to access public transport services in Ipswich. The service is provided by BSEVC under contract to Suffolk County Council, with additional support provided by Ipswich Borough Council.

To use this service call and register on 01449 614271. You can then call from 9am - 4pm (Mon - Fri) to make a booking to travel anytime between 7am and 7pm Mon through to Saturday. Advance booking of up to a week is advised, although shorter notice may be accommodated.
